Every thermal insulation measure on buildings makes a contribution to environmental protection by reducing the use of heating energy.

For thermal insulation, materials should be chosen that are themselves environmentally friendly and do not contain or release pollutants during their production or chemical composition that either contribute to the greenhouse effect or ozone depletion or have harmful effects on health over their life cycle.

When considering economic efficiency as a whole, it must be assumed that an insulation material saves more energy than is required for its production or recycling. In terms of pollutant emissions, this means that the environmental impact that may be released by an insulation material should be minimal in relation to the reduction in pollutants achieved by the insulation material (based on the entire life cycle). Insulation materials made from renewable raw materials meet 100% of these requirements. Plants remove CO2 from the atmosphere as they grow.
